The increase in the supply of properties for rent, which jumped from around five houses to more than 200 registered. Regarding the availability of hotels, Rogério Bernardes highlighted that priority is given to athletes and their teams, in addition to people who work at the event, but that in December the hotels will be open for the general public to make their reservations.
The organizer also announced the news that new routes will be created for cyclists, with the support of local athlete Rubinho Valeriano, as there will be three weeks of events and on some pre-defined days the tracks at the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá will be closed for maintenance of the organization. ]]>The Brazilian organization of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, held this Tuesday morning (29/10) at Cine Marquise, in São Paulo (SP), the official launch of the double round which will take place in Brazil in 2025, both stages in April, in Araxá (MG). The event brought together representatives from several companies in the bike market, and also from other areas, members of the São Paulo and Minas Gerais public spheres, in addition to the presence of members of the media who were on site to record the meeting.
Among the people who presented at the event were Daniel Guth, executive director of Aliança Bike, Gustavo Nahas, vice-president of the Mountain Bike BH Association, Renata Falzoni, elected councilor of the city of São Paulo, Ítalo Borges, Secretary of Economic Development, Innovation and Tourism of Araxá, Tomás Mendes, Undersecretary of Sports of Minas Gerais, and Rogério Bernardes, organizer of the International Mountain Bike Cup.
Main participants of the launch event (Credit: Sanderson Barbarini/Fotop)
It was up to Daniel Guth to mediate the event and introduce the main guests to tell a little about their vision about the competition and also about the moment experienced by national mountain biking. Check out the testimonials below from each of the five guests who spoke to the others present at Cine Marquise:
Gustavo Nahas, vice-president of Mountain Bike BH
“We at Associação Mountain Bike BH, as organizers of the event, are very happy to be here telling a little of our story. We are almost 20 years old and, within the object and by statute, we have to promote sport and we have already done this in several ways, including with the State and Federal Sports Incentive Law. Within this range of everything we have already carried out, there are educational projects, paracycling, Incentive Law for amateur teams, for professional teams. And, of course, for the International Cup itself. Now, we have this challenge for the 2025 World Cup. In addition, we have trail recovery projects in the Metropolitan region of BH and in Conceição do Mato Dentro (MG). And we even delivered a sketch for a Trails Listing project in Nova Lima, which is already ten years old and is now a decree. All the trails there are listed and no development can discontinue these trails.”
Renata Falzoni, elected councilor of the city of São Paulo
“For those who know the International Cup, if you look at its history, it will remind you of the entire history of rural competitive cycling in Brazil, which is the origin of the event. The first time I went, in the 90s, it was called Copa Ametur and promoted rural tourism. Rigid bikes competing on completely natural trails. The evolution of international MTB is parallel to what CiMTB is becoming. Rogério Bernardes once said he would do official UCI tests and I told him he was crazy. There was no other way. He unraveled everything and managed to put on the best international event outside of Europe. I remember when I managed to be at the Rio/16 Olympics, on a track built by Rogério and his team, completely in harmony with what the UCI wanted. That was a source of pride for us. A track built by a Brazilian who had all the roots of high-performance MTB in Brazil. São Paulo, with all its qualities, cannot have the protagonism that Minas Gerais brings us. It’s cool to recognize what we have to learn from this work and raise ourselves to the same level, to bring here evidence of this level and this content.”

Ítalo Borges, Secretary of Economic Development, Innovation and Tourism of Araxá
“I just have to thank Rogério Bernardes and the entire team for honoring us with an event of such magnitude. Araxá is a city, for those who don’t know, that has some attributes that other cities of its size do not have. Receiving a event of this size was of fundamental importance for the development of our tourism, which in the past had leisure tourism and today we are a city with what we call event tourism, which boosts the economy in a very significant way. Not only with the International Cup, but also with the arrival of the World Cup. To give you an idea, until the 2024 World Cup we didn’t have an AirBnb. These are changes of this magnitude that an event of this size brings. It distributes income, in addition to bringing knowledge, leisure and culture to the entire region. Araxá is privileged, and this time with two stages. The safest city in the state, second in education. Pillars that provide the ability to receive events of this magnitude.”
Tomás Mendes, Undersecretary of Sports of Minas Gerais
“We were very happy to be here at such a special moment. Our words are of gratitude on behalf of Governor Romeu Zema, who is passionate about Araxá and the sport, and who gave us this mission. In 2024, we experience everything that the World Cup managed to deliver in Araxá. Development, economic movement. When the Governor arrived there in April this year, he told us that this was an event that Araxá and the State of Minas Gerais always had to do. So let’s encourage it more and more. And, of course, Zema took advantage by saying that whoever takes one test takes two. We scratch our heads, roll up our sleeves and literally put on our shirts to make things happen in the best way possible within our state. Thank Araxá for the partnership, to Rogério Bernardes, who from the moment we build the delivery of the event and how we are going to make it meet all the UCI’s responsibilities, he runs from one side to the other to make things happen. Count on the Government of Minas Gerais. We also thank Mountain Bike BH, for being an important partner so that everything can happen.”
Rogério Bernardes, organizer of CiMTB
“All this construction, with Mountain Bike BH, has been fundamental to making the event viable. The city hall and City Council of Araxá and Governor Romeu Zema are also extremely important. I also thank Deputy Bosco, who, more than just a deputy, participated in meetings and was part of our team. Thank you also to the Ministry of Sports and the Brazilian Cycling Confederation, the CBC. Furthermore, also recognize the efforts of the community and the market. Everyone is important in this process. Warner Bros. Discovery was very impressed with all this articulation. Of a total of 16 World Series weekends in 2025, two of them will be in Araxá, the only Latin American representative in the event. It was also exciting to be here and remember the great moments of the World Cups that we organized, Petrópolis and Araxá, together with our guests. The feeling we have about 2025 is one of great anxiety about experiencing one of the greatest, if not the greatest, moment in Brazilian mountain biking that is yet to come.”

After the presentations, the organizer of the International Mountain Bike Cup brought to visitors some important numbers achieved in the 2024 season of the competition, relating to the Araxá stages (CiMTB and World Series), and announced some ideas that the organization has about the arena of the next season and also of the schedule that is yet to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
It is also worth highlighting that there are still spaces available in the different exhibition areas of the event, which will be sold in the coming days. To do this, interested parties must contact the organizer, Rogério Bernardes, directly by email at info@cimtb.com.br or via WhatsApp (31) 98835-7777. To the partners who have already confirmed their presence at CiMTB, in March, and at the double round of the Araxá World Cup, in April, Gorgeous Eventos is appointed as the official assembler of the arena, that is, any need regarding stand assembly, the company is available to serve companies with the best market conditions. ]]>Holding major sporting events in a city is always capable of leaving the most different types of legacies for the general population. In the case of Araxá, after more than 20 years of hosting the International Mountain Bike Cup, the municipality reached a new level of demand for accommodation, with the unprecedented hosting of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, with the UCI MTB World Cup in Short Track (XCC) and Olympic Cross Country (XCO) modalities taking place for the first time in 2024, and now confirmed for a double round in 2025.
If at the end of 2023 there were a maximum of ten houses registered for rent throughout the municipality, the news is good for those who will be in Araxá in 2025, closely following the three mountain biking weekends in the municipality: there are more than 200 houses currently registered and the supply movement is growing. Many families are planning to move in with relatives to rent their homes during the event period. This new market niche in the city is generating jobs and income for the people of Araxa and with a greater supply of properties, prices are becoming fairer.
Whether they are athletes, exhibitors or the general public, simply access the link https://forms.gle/BKaSbEuyqWN7WqDZ6 and fill out the form according to your needs, so that you can be offered accommodation according to what you are looking for.
So that the number of houses available for rent could increase, always taking into account the need to have quality in this offer, the organization of both competitions counted on an important local partner in this work, AXA Consultoria Imobiliária, which is connected to other real estate agencies and also directly to the house owners. In addition to carrying out the registration, the company made sure to visit the properties to ensure that all those selected were up to quality standards and able to serve customers. Those interested in putting their property up for rent should contact us via WhatsApp (34) 3438-0444.

]]>In an exclusive MySide yearbook, in which data was collected from the Mortality Monitoring Panel of the Health and Environmental Surveillance Secretariat (SVSA) and the IBGE Census to provide a reliable analysis of the cities that stand out in terms of safety, Araxá stands out stood out in the state of Minas Gerais as the safest city among municipalities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants. And, on a broader scale, the highlight also remains, with a ranking in the Top 10 nationally, being the ninth city in the ranking among the safest in the country.
This fact gains even more importance, since between the months of March and April 2025, the city will once again become the world capital of mountain biking, hosting three major events in sequence: the opening of the 2025 International MTB Cup , between March 28th and 30th, and two first stages of the next season of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, with the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in the Short Track (XCC) and Olympic Cross Country (XCO) modalities, on the 3rd on April 6th (first stage) and April 10th to 13th (second stage).
The rate recorded in Araxá is 3.6 homicides per 100 thousand inhabitants. This gives the municipality great prominence in the state of Minas Gerais, just ahead of Varginha and Muriaé, with rates of 5.7 and 7.6, respectively, on the list of safest cities. Minas Gerais, in fact, ranks fifth among the safest states in Brazil – with a rate of 19.9 violent deaths per 100,000 inhabitants.

According to the yearbook created by MySide, a company specialized in technology and services in the real estate sector: “The main indicator used to classify cities was the number of murders per 100 thousand inhabitants. This indicator is widely recognized as a solid and universal measure of public safety. International organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), use this rate in their reports, considering it essential for regional and temporal comparisons. The use of this indicator allows the absolute numbers of homicides to be adjusted according to the size of the population, facilitating comparative analyzes and the formulation of effective public policies”.

]]>You know that feeling we often have that time flies by. This is how Araxaenses and also cycling lovers must be feeling with the confirmation that, for the second consecutive year, Araxá (MG) will host the MTB World Cup, entitled WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series. On the part of the local organization, the expectation is to repeat the great party that took place in April 2024, when the municipality received athletes from around 40 countries, 85% of them being members of the top 50 in the world ranking at the time, considering the best men and women.
The big news is that in 2025, Araxá will host a double round of the event held by Warner Bross Discovery (WBD) Europe. And what does this mean? On two different weekends, April 3rd to 6th and April 10th to 13th, the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá will be packed with audiences from all over Brazil and abroad, who will closely follow the best athletes in the world. And this will happen right after the opening stage of CiMTB 2025, between March 28th and 30th, also in the same World Cup arena.

“After doing some analysis of what the 2024 Araxá stage of the World Cup was like in sporting terms, we concluded that in the men’s stage we had 47 of the 50 best athletes in the world in action in the Minas Gerais stage. The women’s number was also significant, with 38 of the 50 athletes from the top 50. The expectation is that this number in 2025 will be closer to having the 100 best, considering the 50 best of each gender. There is no doubt that the sequence of events, made up of CiMTB and two stages of the World Cup. , which has already been called a bike festival, will be a success next year”, celebrated Tomás Mendes, Deputy Secretary of Sports of Minas Gerais.
Another survey carried out by the organization showed that holding two stages of the World Cup in Brazil was very beneficial for Brazilian athletes. Among 38 cyclists born in the country, who were part of the start list for the first two stages of the competition in 2024, 30 of them improved their rankings after the event period. Numbers that help reaffirm the importance of holding the event in Brazil.

The second half of the series introduces a completely new venue for the UCI World Cup in 2025 – Gravity races on the scenic trails of La Thuile – Valle d’Aosta, Italy, hosting the UCI Downhill and Enduro World Cup. A year after hosting XCO and XCC in its UCI World Cup debut in 2024, Mt Van Hoevenberg, in the Olympic Region of Lake Placid (New York, USA), will add a UCI Downhill World Cup in 2025.
The calendar also sees the return of the 2024 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship venue, Pal Arinsal (Andorra), and the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championship location, Val di Fassa – Trentino (Italy), along with the iconic Val di Sole bike park – Trentino (Italy), back-to-back weekends in Haute-Savoie, France (exact locations to be announced later), and Bike Kingdom in Lenzerheide (Switzerland), with the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship in Valais held between them, and a fitting season finale at Mont-Sainte-Anne, the renowned Canadian round.
Chris Ball, Vice President of Cycling Events at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said, “While I am excited to see the conclusion of this year’s WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, the 2025 edition is shaping up to be the best season yet. We’re expanding again, welcoming La Thuile to the UCI World Cup family, while Lake Placid adds Downhill to its schedule, bringing the number of UCI Downhill World Cup rounds to ten. The calendar also brings back locations that had successful debuts in 2024, as well as iconic venues like Val di Fassa, Nové Město Na Moravě, and Mont-Sainte-Anne – a perfect combination of innovation and tradition,” praised Chris Ball.
“Regardless of their background, each round will take place at a venue at the pinnacle of mountain bike track design, ensuring thrilling, adrenaline-filled races from start to finish. The venues are also situated in communities passionate about mountain biking, with fans traveling from near and far to line the tracks and cheer on race day,” added Chris Ball.
UCI President David Lappartient said, “The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series has already increased visibility for the mountain bike discipline, with more stages and more host locations than ever. In 2025, we will keep up the momentum with another new venue joining the Series. Starting in Brazil in April and ending in Canada after months of exciting racing, athletes and fans have much to look forward to in the coming season. It’s going to be another intense year of mountain bike racing!”
Rogério Bernardes, organizer of the Copa Internacional de Mountain Bike (CiMTB) and local representative for the two Brazilian rounds of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, praised Araxá’s confirmation on the 2025 calendar with a double round, meaning two consecutive weekends of events.
“Not even in our dreams could we imagine it would be possible to hold two UCI Mountain Bike World Cup stages in Araxá in 2025. It’s surreal, achieved through immense dedication and commitment, which has earned global trust. Our goal is now on a different level, with huge challenges ahead. We’ll show the world our capacity to host large events with a double dose. These two stages will be unforgettable, demonstrating how we, from Araxá, Minas Gerais, and Brazil, have the ability to deliver fantastic events for mountain bike enthusiasts.”

]]>O post World Cup in Minas Gerais will also bring innovation in the production of sporting events apareceu primeiro em MTB WC Araxá.
]]>For the first time, Minas Gerais will host a stage of the Mountain Bike World Cup. The competition, which will be held between the 19th and 21st of April in Araxá, will transform the city of Alto Paranaíba into the cycling capital of the world, with an expected audience of over 30 thousand people and broadcast to more than 150 countries.
Behind the entire organization of this great event by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), a global giant in the media and entertainment sector and which for the first time promotes a stage of the World Cup in South America, is Rogério Bernardes from Minas Gerais, local promoter of the event which will bring many new features and promises to be a major milestone sport in the country.
One of the new features is the energy system, which will be used for the first time in a World Cup stage. Developed in Brazil, it will use a mobile energy system with reused batteries, which was developed by Tecnogera, a Brazilian company that was already at the forefront of energy solutions for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and which in Araxá will provide this solution for the first time mobile phone with batteries for a sporting event in Brazil.
“Having more sustainable elements within a major event like this is very important, both from the point of view of legacy for the city, and in being able to show new paths using the communication power of sport. In addition to all the environmental legacy actions we have planned for the location, we are very happy to be able to use an innovative energy solution developed in Brazil in partnership with Tecnogera”, says Rogério Bernardes, Organizer of the MTB World Cup and CIMTB.
Energy reliability is a critical element within an event of this size, which involves kilometers in length, from the recording and television broadcast of the race, to areas for the public present and the great moment of timing, starts and finishes.
Tecnogera will also bring its innovative solution to the event that combines energy storage with mobility. M-BESS (Mobile Battery Energy Storage System) consists of a mobile system supplied with reused batteries, which in addition to being an alternative to the use of diesel generators, is also a solution for disposing of end-of-life batteries from other applications. , reused in this system.
This solution developed by Tecnogera is 100% Brazilian and has a lithium battery storage system that provides energy silently and without pollutant emissions, as it reuses batteries from the mobility sector, such as those implemented in electric vehicles, which are at the end of their life cycle. “The Araxá stage of the MTB World Cup is the first sporting event in Brazil that will use a mobile battery power system. We want to help make the competition even more special and a true milestone for Minas Gerais”, adds Jorge Moreno, Director of New Business at Tecnogera.
About Tecnogera Founded in 2006 and operating throughout Brazil and Latin American countries, Tecnogera is a national company, specialized in energy solutions, energy security, electrical and temperature control equipment. A reference in the rental of generator sets, lifting platforms, load banks, lighting towers and the entire line of accessories, the company has already served almost 5 thousand customers of the most varied sizes and segments, and relies on the work of a highly qualified team, 24 hours a day and seven days a week with innovative services that involve development, logistics, implementation, maintenance and support.
